The best Brunch places in Valencia

Valencia is a beautiful city with so much to see. The brunch scene is in full swing, catering to visitors who enjoy a late breakfast while sightseeing.

While there is a rising anti-tourist sentiment in Spain, I think it could be better directed. The main issue is not tourists minding their own vacation, but greed. Corporations, landlords, the government, and Airbnb, each join in draining the wallet of both foreigners and locals. Even the corner stores that charge 2 euros for a water have no consideration for anyone.

It's not like tourists like to be seen as walking wallets; they plan and save for their vacation. Nobody enjoys emptying their pockets for never-ending pricing hikes.

Now that I've put in my two cents, here are my favorite brunch places in Valencia.

Café Infanta is only a few minutes away from the Central Market in Valencia. The decor is very old Hollywood, with a hint of antique shop. This old tavern seems popular with locals and tourists alike. You can have anything from a plain croissant with a side of scrambled eggs to a full breakfast with eggs and bacon. You can also expect the ubiquitous local Iberian ham and Potato omelet. They even have vegetarian options, as well as interesting combinations like a bacon, goat cheese, and blueberry jam sandwich.

Cult Café is a small cafe that offers delicious pastries, bagels, and toasts, among other things. The coffee here is delicious. This cafe is so popular that people line up for a table. I would say Cult Cafe is one of the very best brunch spots in Valencia.

I enjoyed the toast here, and all the pastries look delicious.

They even have vegan and gluten-free options, so that's a plus. Pan con Tomate is a traditional breakfast and one of my favorite toast options. The bread is topped with olive oil, chopped tomatoes, and salt. It's simple but perfect for a light breakfast.

If this place is too crowded, I recommend going around the corner to the Bikini Mercat.

Bikini is known in Catalonia as a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. The Bikini Mercat in Valencia has a fresh look and fun neon decorations. They serve sandwiches, toast, veggies, and an English-style breakfast. The food had a nice presentation, and the staff was friendly.

And they even have almond milk lattes. I find that oat milk is more popular in Spain and Portugal, but almond milk is my favorite.

Distrito was a last-minute choice, but we were glad to find it. The sandwiches here were the best in Valencia. The bread was fresh and crunchy, the fillings were so delicious. I went from 'I'll just have a croissant' to 'Are you sharing that?' real quick. You get a whole baguette cut in half, so you can mix and share with your companions.

The Potato Omelet is another traditional Spanish breakfast item, and this restaurant makes a tasty one.

As brunch is more of a visitor thing, Eat My Trip achieved the top American brunch goals. The portions are large, the presentation is 'Instagramable', and there's cake. The Guacascramble was a whole meal, the largest avocado toast dish I've seen.

For the pancakes, I recommend sharing them with a friend. My pancake order literary came with an ice cream bar, the crown on a mountain of sugary toppings. I would classify them as a dessert, for mornings when you're not hungry, but want to dabble in diabetes a little bit.

I think Rompiendo Cocos was my favorite, if only for the almond milk latte. The food is very good. From avocado toast to yogurt bowls, to pastries and cake. They serve fresh coconut water straight from the coconut, which is where the name comes from.

The decor is cute, and the beverages and food are colorful and beautifully served. A fun feature is the Brunch Board, which has a bit of everything, savory and sweet.

I'll have to try Brunch Pack the next time I visit Valencia, as it didn't pop up on my map when I was there. But it looks adorable, and the reviews are great.

Their specialty is brunch boxes. Each pack can have beverages, pastries, sandwiches, fruit, and sweets.

The brunch packs are for takeaway, so you can enjoy your snacks in a park or the Jardin del Turia, after a nice walk or bike ride. They also deliver, so you can savor their pastries at home or surprise someone with a treat.

I hope you get to try all the traditional Spanish breakfast meals, as well as all the fun brunches in Valencia. Breakfast foods are the best, especially when we get to experience them in such a beautiful country.
